Common questions

French press or pour over — which should I buy first?
French press if you want rich, full-bodied coffee with minimal technique. Pour over if you enjoy a cleaner, brighter cup and are willing to practice your pour. Neither is objectively better — they extract differently.
Is cold brew stronger than iced coffee?
Cold brew concentrate (1:8 ratio, 12–18 hour steep) is significantly stronger before dilution. Iced coffee is just hot-brewed coffee poured over ice — it starts at a normal strength but dilutes as the ice melts. They are not the same drink.
Does light or dark roast have more caffeine?
Light roast has marginally more caffeine by weight because roasting breaks down some caffeine. By volume (a scoop), dark roast beans are less dense so you get slightly less coffee per scoop. The difference is small enough that brewing method matters more than roast level.
